The breeding deer program at Trophy Ridge Whitetails is focused on one main criterion for success: we select only A.I. sire bucks that have shown a capacity to reach trophy antler size at an early age. To be considered, a buck must exceed 200” B&C by age two, and most of ours are in the range of 240” by 3 years of age. The doe lines we have are from sires that exceed 200” as well, but also meet the antler frame type we desire. We use Texas, and ½ northern does crossed with superior Texas bucks to achieve offspring that are about ¼ northern bloodlines to provide antler mass combined with the wide look that Texas Trophy Bucks are famous for. When you buy Fawns, Does or Bucks from us, you get the benefits of our degrees in Genetics and Reproductive Physiology combined with 35 years of practical experience.
We have calm deer as a result of two things; more than half of our does are bottle raised and most of the balance are offspring from bottle fed does. All the deer we raise have been through the handling facilities multiple times by the time they are three. We work bucks, does and fawns through the barn as a routine process and only work the mature bucks with a dart gun when they are in full antler. The Artificial Insemination process requires minimum stress to have maximum success and we routinely exceed 70% conception rates.
When you buy breeding stock from us, you can be assured that
they will adapt to your place with a minimum of relocation stress. We
deliver anywhere in Texas, first 100 miles free and guarantee the deer are
healthy when delivered.
